Scott Lieberman- Scott is the technology
coordinator at an independent school in Northern Virginia. Over the
last 5 years, he has overseen the installation of the school's very first
data network and installed / configured switches, hubs and servers.
He has increased the computer use at the school from 20 (ten-year old computers)
to over 50 iMac, G3 and G4 machines. His latest achievement has been
the acquisition and integration of a mobile computer cart and wireless network.
He has also implemented a PC network for the administration, running Windows
XP Pro. He has setup the network on a Windows 2000 Server which is backed
up regularly and has automatic virus protection.
In addition to running the technology at the school, Scott also teaches
4th and 5th grade science. He is in the classroom daily and is aware
of the demands technology can put on teachers.
Gretchen Komnik- Gretchen currently is a 3rd grade
classroom teacher at a small, independent school. She has spent the
last 5 years developing ways to use technology in her own classroom as well
as troubleshooting problems for teachers throughout the school. She
has been instrumental in assisting with the research and development of the
school's wireless network. Her expertise in Mac OS X has allowed the
school to transition into using the new Operating System six months earlier
than expected. In addition, her experience with children of all ages
makes her invaluable when finding child friendly websites. Gretchen
is also well versed in iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, and iTunes.
